Bunting along the beams, a foliage arch against the old brick, and a feast to remember.

There are few things we love more than watching the barn dressed for a celebration, and this Sri Lankan wedding was a joy from beginning to end.

Under our ancient beams, bunting and warm lighting traced the rafters, and a beautiful foliage arch stood against the old brick, ready for the happy couple to celebrate. Fresh flowers adorned the tables, an elegant palette that looked wonderful against the barn’s weathered walls.

“No two celebrations here are ever the same. The barn becomes whatever your day, your family and your traditions call for.”

The details

Colour, warmth and generosity

Cheerful bunting ran the length of the barn, and long tables were laid with white linen, jars of wildflowers and coloured candles.

The centrepiece was a truly spectacular grazing table: a feast of fruits, cheeses, breads and warm spiced bites that stretched almost the length of the room. A lovely blend of the barn’s heritage character with the colour, warmth and generosity of a Sri Lankan celebration.

Our congratulations to the happy couple, and our thanks for letting the Tithe Barn be part of your day.

Have something to celebrate?

A wedding is a wonderful day to hold here, but it is far from the only one. Whatever you have to celebrate, the Tithe Barn could be the place for it: a milestone birthday or a big anniversary, a christening or a naming day, a retirement, a family reunion, or a gentle gathering to remember someone dearly loved.

It is just as happy hosting a local string quartet, a supper club, a Christmas party or a village get-together. With its ancient beams, warm brick and room for everyone, the barn has been a gathering place for close to five hundred years, and it would be glad to be part of your celebration, whatever the occasion.
